Oscar Noms and Where To See Them

Thursday, January 26, 2017

Its the most wonderful time of the year!!!!!! Oscar season!!!!!!! If you know me, you know I love the movies. Regardless of the subject matter, I am gripped by the insane amount of art and talent that goes into crafting an Oscar-worthy film. This year, I am particularly excited because I am super hopeful that I'll be able to watch almost, if not all, of the major nomination categories. Here is a list of where to see the top-nominated movies!

So far, I have seen five of the above listed films:
  • La La Land
  • Hell or High Water
  • Deepwater Horizon
  • Hidden Figures
  • Moana
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED Hell or High Water. I had no idea what it was really about when I popped it in the DVD player last night, but it was really fantastic. I also LOVED La La Land, but hated it equally as much as I loved it. Its complicated. I really enjoyed watching Deepwater Horizon, too. I'm from an Oklahoma oil family and my dad worked on off-shore rigs near Galveston for many years, so I have a soft place in my heart for Black Gold and roughnecks. Oh, and Marky Mark. Hidden Figures was really good, a great story that I am glad is being told. Why don't our history books include such amazing parts of our history?! Up next for me is Lion and Fences.
