27 Weeks
Saturday, February 05, 2011How Far Along: 27 Weeks
Size of baby: Gianna is about the size of a head of cauliflower and weighs almost 2 pounds. Its so weird to think that she weighs that much! I'm curious if she is really that big, since she's been a little on the small side.
Total Weight Gain: I'm going to guess about 15 pounds. As of my last appointment it was 13 pounds... so I'm not really sure how much I'm at right now.
Maternity Clothes: I LOVED wearing some of my new clothes this week! ITs so much more comfortable wearing clothes that fit and actually covers my belly. I do'nt want to be one of those preggo's who walk around with the lower part of their belly just hanging out. Sean has been sworn to always tell me if this ever happens.
Gender: Girl! Gianna Noelle
Movement: She has been moving quite a bit this week. Its not really consistent yet... like one day, she's moving a lot and the next day, just a little. But I almost always feel her a little bit at night, and she usually kicks me shortly after I wake up in the morning. I got kind of worried earlier this week when she wasn't moving very much... so one of the nurses at work did an ultrasound. DEFINITE perk of my job!! Sure enough, Little G was moving around, I just couldn't feel it because my placenta is positioned anteriorly instead of posteriorly. Basically it just acts as a cushion between her and me. So I don't always feel her subtle movements, but she has been busy today!
Sleep: Sleep is becoming elusive. At least falling asleep is. I toss and turn and just can't seem to fall asleep very easily. Benadryl helps when I get really tired, though!
What I miss: Nothing. I love being pregnant!!!
Cravings: No cravings again this week really. Boo. I'm ready for food to sound good again!
Symptoms: Mostly all unpleasant... back aches, abdomen aches, heartburn, and many unmentionables. But I'm loving them all!!!!
Best Moment of the Week: Seeing Gianna on the ultrasound!!!
Appointments This Week?No doctor's appointments this week. I did manage to get my appointment scheduled with a new doctor in Cincinnati for when we move there. That was a huge relief!
What I’m looking forward to: Having my first Dr. appointment in Cincinnati and doing a tour of the hospital there. Unknowns make me anxious, and I am hoping and praying that Gianna will stay warm and snug in my belly and keep growing for another 12-13 weeks. Grow baby grow!
One Thing I've Learned This Week: I need to drink more water!!!

I think my placenta was positioned that way with Lincoln. I didn't feel him for the longest time (which in reality was like 19-20 wks). And even then I didn't fell him all the time like I did my other babies. It had me worried, and I googled it and asked around on some forums. Towards the end though, I found feel the brunt of his kicks just fine :) Love your new pics!
