36 weeks a.k.a. 9 MONTHS!

Friday, April 08, 2011

That's right, folks... we've made it to 36 weeks, which if you do the math equals 9 months!!! Only 4 weeks or less until our babe is here God-willing! So here's the low-down on this past week.

(Yes, I know I just posted our 35 week update yesterday... but I was a little behind. Today is officially 36 weeks. If only the weeks would go by that fast, right!?)

How Far Along: 36 Weeks
Size of baby: About the size of some other kind of melon or cantaloupe... these foods are ridiculous. Someone needs to re-do this list!
Total Weight Gain: 29 and 3/4 pounds.... alright, let's just call it *gulp* 30. Still right on track for where I should be. But I am starting to wonder about getting back in shape after baby gets here!
Maternity Clothes: Have you SEEN my belly? Sean's undershirts don't even fit me anymore.
Gender: Girl! Gianna Noelle
Movement: She's been very active the past week! She's most active in the afternoon, and especially after I eat sweets. :) But it seems like she always quiets down when I want to do my kick counts. But today, she moved for almost 2 hours straight, while I was catching up on American Idol!
Sleep: Sleep is oh-so-elusive. Just a couple hours here and there. I actually dread nighttime, because I just toss and turn. And lying down for so long is very uncomfortable.
What I miss: Sleeping more than 2 hours at a time, bending over, wine, sushi, etc etc!
Cravings: Nothing much really... just yummy food. Oh, I guess you could say White Castle... that ALWAYS sounds good to me! Weird, huh!??
Symptoms: Just a whole lotta trips to the bathroom.
Best Moment of the Week: The weather is getting nicer here in Ohio, and last night Sean and I went for a walk at a nearby park. It was about 7 o'clock and the sun was setting behind the river. It was so great to walk alongside my honey with our baby in my belly, just filled with so much excitement for what is to come. I know that we will never get this time of our lives back and I am so thankful for every second I'm getting to spend with my sweetheart.
Appointments This Week? Yep! We just had another appointment today. We met the 3rd of 5 doctors in our practice who could potentially deliver Gianna. He was nice, just like the others. Though we still prefer the first guy we saw. But really, there was nothing to complain about with this guy! He again took his time to explain things to me (Group B Strep test today... ick) and answer any questions. I'm dialated 1 cm and baby is in good position! So that is good news. We had a great time in the Clifton area after our appointment, too... that is where our hospital is located, along with a big university. Its a really neat area, with all kinds of fun stores and restaurants. We ate at a DELISH Indian restaurant!
What I’m looking forward to: Taking Gia for walks in the park.
One Thing I've Learned This Week: A lot of the things that I thought I would need to bring a baby into this world are frivolous. Sure, I'd love to be painting a nursery, sewing dresses and cleaning tile with a toothbrush but I don't need any of those things. I am so thankful that all I will ever need, I am able to take with me no matter where this life takes us.
