Fall Pinterest Challenge: Halloween Costume

Wednesday, November 02, 2011

I'm joining uber bloggers Sherry, Katie, Ana and Erin in the Fall Pinterest Challenge. The challenge? Pin it, then actually make it! The latest thing I've made from Pin-spiration was a Halloween costume for lil' G. Some of you may or may not know this, but my tall, dark and handsome manly husband has a tattoo of a unicorn. Don't ask... I don't really know... its an inside thing with some college buddies of his. They all have unicorn tattoos. And they're not small either... like, covers his whole upper arm huge. So unicorns are just kind of a "thing"... I don't know how or when or why it happened it just did. So when I saw this adorable DIY costume on Pinterest, I knew I had to make one for Gia's first Halloween! Here's the Pinspiration:

Gia wound up being really sick all weekend, so I didn't get to make it with as much perfection as I would have liked, but I think it turned out really cute. The pictures are not the greatest, again because she was so sick and not feeling great when I put it on and made her pose for the cameras. But I happen to think she's the cutest little unicorn on the planet! I found a hoodie and matching pants at Walm*art for $3.88 each, then bought some felt and safety pinned the pieces to the hoodie. Then I covered the head of each safety pin with masking tape, to protect any rogue pins from sticking my sweet babe.

  1. I love this costume idea! I am definitely filing it away in the memory bank for when I have a daughter. Great job.
